Can't do blog posts at the moment.....................

Dear EZ Biker Friends, I have gotten a lot of fellow bloggers contacting me about not being able to post at their blogs, using alternative blog posting software like Windows Live Writer. (Which is what I use too) Like others I can't post anything from my Live Writer client and have been researching the issue and here is what I have found.

Having read the Blogger help forum, it would appear that Google on the 26th of this month changed their API log in protocols etc. Which has effectively killed off all 3rd party blogger software !! (That 2 step process to log into your Gmail account?) :-((((((((((((((((

Hopefully Microsoft and Google will get this resolved soon; as there seems to be a lot of people NOT HAPPY about this; including me. :-(((((((((((((((((((((((

I posted this using Bloggers posting client... :-(((((((((((((((((((

Hopefully this will be resolved soon and we all can get back to posting on our blogs!

Ken aka EZ Biker.

Are you tired of dealing with busy city street traffic? They how about some challenging off road aka Gravel Grinding?Surprised smileNow admittedly this particular gravel grinder blog is a bit extreme, in that you not only have dirt and gravel to deal with but also FREEZING temps and… snow!Surprised smile Look for more of these kinds of articles to come as I too, am beginning to see the… advantages of not having to deal with public road vehicle idiots!Nyah-Nyah

OT–After 6000+ shows / nights airing; the one show Dave Letterman I have never forgotten! :-PPP

Sadly Dave Letterman signed off this past week and I truly enjoyed the entertainer and his show. BUT… out of all the shows aired, the one I most remember is when one of my all time favorite actresses, Drew Barrymore did a table dance on Letterman's desk and then…  THE FLASH!!!Surprised smileSmile with tongue out here’s the link to catch it all!Thumbs up

Why does not welcome comments… :-O

You know I continue to receive inquiry emails as to WHY I don’t have comments activated at my blog.Nerd smile Pictured to the left is my main reason for that. Bentrideronline (BROL) has always kept a pretty close eye on spammers and trolls and yet, right off the bat, you have 3 trolls with posts there.Thumbs downBelieve it or not, I actually did have comments at one time and yet I got so many a holes, trolls and spammers posting  comments that had nothing to do with my blog’s subject matter; that I just cut out that function altogether. I have no doubt BROL will get rid of the troll infestation soon enough!Fingers crossed

Last year on THIS date… Posted on Facebook! :-(((

A sign of the times… and it will ONLY get WORSE for cyclists! :-(

This particular story, another vehicle operator verses cyclist confrontation has been heating up all bicycle forums on the web. Portland bicyclist photographed throwing bike lock at motorist during road-rage incident, is (Regrettably) merely the tip of the iceberg for all cyclists. I personally have already quit counting how many incidents I’ve already had this year and I’m not even doing that much on city street cycling at the moment.Sad smile Admittedly, my take on this is a cyclist was chastising a motorist for attempting to make a right hand turn at a red light, even though there was a sign stating that was not allowed at that intersection. Another vehicle operator saw this and decided to jump into the fray, with their own opinion of the matter and things just escalated from there; with the cyclist spitting on or towards the motorist and the motorist retuning the favor. THAT was WRONG for both parties to resort to that kind of behavior. The cyclist (Initially) should have never spat on or even towards the motorist!Steaming madFast forward to the  u lock being tossed at the motorist was still another poor choice for the cyclist to have made. BUT… if the vehicle operator was driving (As stated) in an aggressive manner, nearly hitting the cyclist, they did have the right to defend themselves.

Blah blah blah, the story could go on and on; but the point I want to make here is, confrontations like this will continue and sadly ESCALATE as vehicle operators continue to pursue getting cyclists off of streets permanently. Again (IMHO) all of this goes back to that technology addiction that this entire world continues to surrender to, unconditionally. Instant gratification, the snap of a finger and God forbid you get held up for even a few seconds by one of those old school bicyclists out there! They need to get off the road now, so us vehicle operators can get where we need to go ASAP.Annoyed Admittedly, it’s only a matter of time, when this war will be over and the bicycle (At least hpv {Human powered vehicle} wise) will be put out to pasture, like land line phone, film, VCR, floppy disk and so many other last century innovations. It’s a new world out there folks and bicycling is not part of the equation!Annoyed

Planet pedal: How to ride around the world on a bicycle!

Believe it or not, this is one of those dreams I have wanted to do all my life!Thumbs up It’s included in my bucket list; but the chances of me achieving it, grow slimmer by the day, as I have to continue to work to keep a roof over my head.Sad smileBut this article has (At least) recharged my dream to achieve the feat and it’s a real fascinating read!Thumbs up

Grabbed what

OK EZ Biker Friends, obviously by now you all must realize that I have somewhat of a warped… sense of humor.Nyah-NyahSo when I came upon this article of 2 rugby(?) players, with one looking to start a fight (Stated in the article) I clearly didn’t expect to see what the one guy did next!Surprised smile Now.. I don’t know a lot about rugby; but are you sure this game isn’t more like… (WAIT FOR IT…) RUB ME?Nyah-NyahNyah-NyahNyah-Nyah

Buying directly from the factory… The kiss of death… that will only quicken the demise of recumbency… :-(((

A very interesting post at the BROL forum about: 2 wheel bents disappearing from stores gives way to a very SAD reality closing in on the fledgling recumbent or bent bicycle industry.Sad smileBack when bents were finally getting serious and making a play in the bicycle arena, it was not uncommon for small builders to sell from their garages and small factories. The hope was that local bike shops might find the product market worthy to maybe carry in their stores.Fingers crossed Some bent brands did manage to achieve that goal and did establish a number of dealers around the country and even worldwide. BUT… without getting into the numerous MISTAKES bent builders made (marketwise) bents, just didn’t take off and the retail industry basically just blew them off totally, as a limited niche product.

Now the trend seems to be, going back and selling directly from the factory; which clearly will be the KISS of DEATH for manufacturers embracing this philosophy. They may sell bikes but… finding a bike shop that will actually work on that unique device, will ultimately be a consumer dismount. What’s the use of obtaining or owning a product, you can’t find anyone to work on or repair it.Crying face
