Bike Fit - new article in Bicycling Magazine…

You know, I continue to hear pro and con about getting properly fit to your bicycle or fitted to find the best fitting bike for you. I personally am a “Believer”Angel in this practice, based on an experience I had, with my previous folder bike. (I know I have voiced this in another post, soon to be posted?) As mentioned in the other post, a good friend of mine retired from doing the bike shop duties, took the time and actually fit and adjusted me to his particular fold bike and what a difference it made!Thumbs uphad I done this with my original fold bike, I’d probably still have that little beastie!Smile At any rate, the BROL forum read is worthwhile and here is link to this BROL thread. Of course you are welcome to fast forward to the actual article it’s self; here is the link to the bike fit story.Thumbs up

Nice bike lighting system! :-)

I don’t know if you could label this as a weird fetish…Surprised smileabout me; BUT… I truly have a THING for bicycling lightning!Red heartSome of this may come from the fact that I usually find myself on the roadway, early in the morning before sunlight. Now unlike others that use the constant blink or strobe lights; I prefer a BRIGHT continuous beam, so I can (Sometimes…) avoid the nasty city meter holes ad roadway holes that lie waiting for those poor cyclists unsuspecting bike rims to enjoy.Sad smileNeedless to say, this pictured lights, from an article at Bike Rumor caught my eye and they seem to be pretty solid. Here’s the link to Bike Rumor read up on more about these Great looking lights!Thumbs up

Now THIS is a HOT LOOKING………….. Fold Bike!Winking smileYou can read more about this little cutie at: ibikedaily.comThumbs up

Re-visiting some favorite sites!

It has not been too many years ago; when I found myself in a super bind, regarding my bicycle shifting; which decided to get out of whack, just before an event I had been looking forward to all year. I remember really whacking one of Ft. Lauderdale (NASTY) trademark city meter holes; which apparently goofed up my shifting mechanism. (I've experienced this on all my bikes at one time or another. So my choice was throw my bike in the van and zoom over to the bike show and let them check it our or… see if I could maybe do it myself!Surprised smileHaving already achieved the REAL Bicyclist status, in being able to change my own flat tires; adjusting gear shifters has been a phobia for me for ages. I remember being sent a website that provides FREE (Easy to master) video tutorials on various bicycle maintenance issues and decided to give it a looksee.Nerd smile Low and behold, I was prancing around like a peacockPrincess in just a short time; as I was able to achieve adjusting my gear shifting's, with the help of upI have since revisited this site often and now I can do a lot of my own bike maintenance, much to the dismay of my LBS. (Local Bike Shop) Here is the link to check out an EZ Biker Favorite site!Thumbs up

What kind of cycling EZ?

Hello EZ, I get the feeling you are into all kinds of bicycling ; but wondering if any particular kind is your favorite? Signed Eric

Hello Eric, thanks for your email and the answer to your question is… Randonneuring!Thumbs up Randonneuring is long-distance unsupported endurance cycling. This style of riding is non-competitive in nature, and self-sufficiency is paramount. When riders participate in randonneuring events, they are part of a long tradition that goes back to the beginning of the sport of cycling in France and Italy. Friendly camaraderie, not competition, is the hallmark of randonneuring.

Admittedly, I have not actually done any of these kinds of events; but they are the particular bike direction I’m really hoping to move into,Fingers crossed in the very near future. I like the fact that you technically are not competing with anyone; just yourself, the road course and the ultimate reward of completing the event in reasonably good shape.SmileI have a lot of fellow bicycling friends that are total fanatics for this kind of bicycling philosophy and I have never heard any negative issues about it. For anyone interesting in reading more about this; here is the link to read more about these FUN and healthy events.Thumbs up
