OT–Smart Phone Zombie Victim!
Yep, they are EVERYWHERE! Mindless humans that are totally tethered to their smartphones, wandering aimlessly around and victimizing people!, like me! Had 2 such SPZ encounters at the local grocery store the other day. Face bent down, totally consumed in the message that was coming into their device and then, WACK! Right into my grocery cart. Ooooh, mumble mumble… sorry bout…. ohhh another message, well… whatever… You SPZ’s (Smart phone zombies) truly have no life!

OT–Goodbye Coast 97.3!!! I don’t enjoy BURNT TOAST! :-(((
You know EZ Biker Friends, we all have that certain morning routine that we do almost religiously. Stopping for that cup of coffee, maybe a muffin, opening your desk drawers a certain way, parking in that certain spot everyday, typical routine things, that help make the new day in the world all right again. Any slight deviation of those things and that go with the flow, hits turbulence. For me, it was that turning on the office radio, dialed to Coast 97.3 radio and enjoying my 2 favorite DJ Divas, Tamera G and Julie Guy.
Now in case you aren’t aware of this, I was a club / mobile DJ for 20+ years, back in the 70’s through early 90’s in Houston Texas and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. One of the more interesting and FUN aspects about that , was being able to work with local radio station personalities, in club promotions. A few of those radio personalities even allowed me to co host with them, at private parties and events. So in a way, I continue to have a kinship or connection with club / radio DJ’s, to this day.
Without getting too deep into the politics of why music formats and programs get changed; radio stations are a lot like clubs. They start up with a certain music style or format and in time, they modify or change it. (New marketing strategy, different advertisers, audience wanted, blah, blah blah) I remember some of the HOTTEST rock stations, changing to Country Western music over night and the hordes of followers, that quickly changed to another station. One must remember, it’s not just the music, but also the radio DJ / personality that makes the program formula work. While DJs are versatile, in that they can program / play any kind of music, they usually get identified (Stereotyped / branded) with a specific music format and that’s where they excel the best. Like William Shatner (Capt. Kirk / Star Trek) playing the role of something other than a Star Ship Captain? SORRY, he will forever only be Capt. Kirk of the USS Enterprise in my world. OK, so I did deviate from my original theme of this post. DJing is STILL actually my first passion, besides bicycling.
For me, those 2 Girls in the morning were my Java, my coffee, my, yea, the rest of the day, will be OK; now that I have my 2 Girl fix, HOORAY! Then part of that java went blah, when Tamera G, was cut from the dynamic duo. These 2 Girls compliment themselves together so well; I truly believe they, could make any kind of radio station music format the HOT channel to listen to; even if it was roaring 20’s music! OK, so, Robin is no longer with Batman; but there’s still Batman, so the Java is still palatable, so my allegiance to Coast radio continued. But now, the music format has strayed so far off the trail; sadly, Batman or Julie Guy, and the format, just don’t flow together. BUT I still enjoyed Julie Guy’s personality and thus, my now bland Java, continued to hang on, if just by fingertips. However this past Friday, May 24, upon learning that it was Julie Guy’s last day… that bland java, is now un-palatable CRA… er… MUD! Coast 97.3, will no longer be on my radar, with me!
Lastly, I’m no big shot, VIP or ultra marketing genius by any part of the word; but I truly believe, those 2 Girls in the Morning, have the chemistry to catapult any typical run of the mill radio station, into THE HOTTEST “IN” station on the market, to listen to!!! C’mon NOW, I need my Java back soon!!! Sincerely, Ken aka EZ Biker

OT–ALRIGHT! Now here’s a Great Website!
Quote from the http://bookface.org.uk/ site: “This is the place to come if you're tired of being poked, posted, invited, advertised to, written on, spammed, tweeted, and generally trying to do things with a keyboard and screen that are better done in person.” Ummm, to my Facebook brethren… take the hint!!!

OT - Turn out the lights… The party’s… OVER… :-(((
Well EZ Biker Friends, I just happen to see where one of the original cast members of this… show is getting ready to move on. Kind of makes you wonder how much LONGER, this program will be around. Which easily reminds me of your typical fads, promotions or clubs, that happened onto the scene and then in no time; they were just an also-ran, has been, outdated and fading away fast. Yep, I believe the writing is on the wall here… Time for something, fresh, new and MORE exciting!
