Some MORE new Blog site additions! EZ's Favorites!

I get numerous emails inquiring not only about recumbent bicycling but other inquiries as well. In case you are not aware, EZ Biker has been practicing to become FRUGAL biker for sometime. Yep, trying to do things that saves $$$ has become a FUN endeavor for me. I really don't desire to receive any kind of $$$ gifts personally. Instead of buying me something, be creative and just send me something home made! If you want to spend $$$ for gifts, then do for the millions of needy children out there, probably don't get any kinds of gift, ever. :-( Which brings me to one of my first (Of many) FAVORITES, I'll be posting here. I LOVE making my own Greeting and whatever cards (Which I use Microsoft Publisher's instant card publishing template - which I'll be telling you more about in the future) and that results in the need of... "FONTS"! One site that clearly stands out for """FREE""" fonts is Fontspace! They have all kinds of fonts and they are FREE! I have and will continue to visit their site and thus it rates as an EZ Biker's Favorite pick!

Saturday Night Live earns EZ Biker's 1st. YOU SUCK AWARD!!! :-/

You know EZ Biker Friends, I'm basically a pretty laid back individual. And I likewise tend to exhibit a sense of humor at times too, as you have seen in some of my posts. There's not really a lot of things that will trip my negative trigger. BUT one instance that HAS CLEARLY DONE SO, is the Television Program Saturday Night Live, in doing their absolutely TASTELESS skit aimed at New York Gov. David A. Paterson, who is legally blind, this past weekend. WHAT TOTAL IDIOTS! I would hope people would find out who the sponsors and advertisers are for that... show and FLOOD them with letters and emails, demanding they make SNL offer a humble apology, or their products will be boycotted! I know this post BLOWS my intent to keep my blog positive; BUT this is something that really bothers me and I want my feelings and OUTRAGE known in the matter! So SNL, you earn my first EZ Biker YOU SUCK award, you insensitive SCUMBAGS!!! :-/
UPDATE: WOW! I just posted this and I've already gotten some responses, with one a suggestion on a website that SNL should seriously consider visiting. It's name is: Oops I'm Sorry and admittedly, the site has cheered me up a tad, over this post...

OT - A Christmas Story for people having a bad day... :-/

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.. Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where. Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered. Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor.. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom. Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully: - 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'
And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Florida "WINTER" Attire... ;-)

Dear EZ Biker, I'm really jealous of your Florida cyclists! You seem to have good cycling weather year round! (As opposed to us Montana types... ;-) I'm wondering, do you ever get out in weather under 55 degrees. Signed Julie
Hello Julie, Thank you for your email and YES, believe it or not, I actually do venture out in BLIZZARD conditions here in Florida... ;-) OK, anything under 60 degrees is considered BLIZZARD conditions to me! (EZ WIMP...OOO) SO, when the temps dive, I pull out my WINTER gear as seen in the photo. Add to this being on a recumbent and you have a unique instant parade float!!!
PS: Don't you love my antenna's sticking out of my helmet??? ;-)

OT - HEY US Auto Manufacturers, You're BEGGING for a handout from the WRONG Source!!!

OK EZ Biker Friends, I really try and not deviate from my blog theme, being recumbent bicycling; BUT I just feel I need to make my thoughts known about the latest beggars for use of OUR Tax Dollars! In a word, “NO”, we tax payers should not go bailing out the US Auto manufacturers! What these people need to do, is go hat in hand to a source that HAS PLENTY OF EXCESS $$$ to BURN and stands to be impacted the most by an industry that uses their products, namely that of the OIL Companies!!!

SHAME on Delray & Boynton Beach! DIRTY Bike Lanes For Inlet Challenge Event!

Well EZ Biker Friends, I'm a little dis-heartened and very concerned about some of the bike lane areas on A1A, beyond Delray beach heading back South. Some of the road construction has just recently been completed, BUT apparently no one thought it important to check the bike lanes and make sure they are CLEAN! I rode the route today and witnessed a down cyclist; which I hope was not due to a DIRTY bike lane. I really hope cyclists will be careful out there. You basically have the perfect (Bad Cycling Potential) storm, in that of dirty bike lanes, with the potential of flatting and sliding down due to loose gravel, add to that the HUNDREDS of cyclists that will be on A1A and finally add to that, Holiday Traffic that will be on the road!
Needless to say, I briefly flirted with doing the ride; BUT today's discoveries, clearly have me doing the course tomorrow morning with a 5 AM start! Less traffic, which means I can ride outside the DIRTY bike lanes. In conclusion: SHAME on Delray & Boynton Beach! DIRTY Bike Lanes For Inlet Challenge Event! :-( :-( :-(
By the way, the pictured photo is NOT from A1A, but portrays what some bike lane areas look like. :-(
