Carry an EMERGENCY ID with you always!
Post update: 4-23-05 I got a really nice e-mail from Marc, who directed me to a forum thathad posts about emergency ID's. One REALLY IMPORTAINT addition I learned from reading that forum was have your BLOOD Type listed! * Thanks Marc!!! * :-)
While rolling around in South Florida wind today, my fellow cyclists and I came upon an unfortunate scene, in that of an injured cyclist, who apparently could not communicate due to facial injuries, he had sustained with an encounter with a vehicle. He normally rides with the group, but no one really knows him that well and he didn't have any kind ID on him either. He was ultimately transported via EMS and hopefully contact information can be found for him.
Which brings me to my subject title of the: Most IMPORTAINT item to have with you when cycling! An emergency ID card with all the pertinent family / friend contact, medical and insurance information is a must carry item to have all the time. I’ve gone a step further and put my living will decree on the other side, which all my family members have been made aware of and agree to. This is something I have with me at all times when cycling and away from home in general. Photos by EZ Biker Copyright © 2004, 2005 ezbiker.com All rights reserved worldwide.
